Les Fetes du Roi Soleil - The Celebrations of the Sun King,- issued by Hermes as part of its 1994/1995 Autumn/Winter Collection - was designed by Michel Duchène.
An homage to Louis the XIV, the French Sun King. The design depicts the array of flamboyant costumes worn during regal parades and pageants of the period.
Created from coveted jacquard silk with the woven Hermes fireworks design. It allows the designs to shimmer with movement as they do not have a printed design. They are created on a special loom to achieve the woven print. Hermes stopped production of jacquard in 2001/2002 due to the high cost.
Due to the rarity of Hermès jacquard silk scarves (carres) they are highly collectible.
